Thanks to your unwavering love and encouragement, we've been honored with Entertainer of the Year and Show of the Year, but these awards belong to all of us. Our Story

DIVAS Illusion Show, the fastest-growing entertainment in Tucson, Arizona, has firmly established itself as the top and first-of-its-kind drag impersonation show within Tucson’s Latin community. Dedicated to uniting the LGBTQ+ community and the Latin population in Southern Arizona, Armando Alvarez has become a household name in Tucson’s entertainment scene.

Armando, along with his business partner, Cerjio Edwardo, initially launched DIVAS as a small hobby and weekend fun. With their infectious laughter and natural ability to entertain the masses, they officially established the DIVAS Illusion Show brand. From the start, DIVAS took Tucson’s entertainment scene by storm, consistently selling out shows and becoming one of the most in-demand drag performance acts in the area.

A Year of Growth & Recognition

In 2024, DIVAS Illusion Show was awarded the #1 show in Tucson by Vamos Tucson, Tv Azteca, Nuestra Hora con Letty, and Premios Ozea—a testament to the impact and popularity of the show.

Additionally, DIVAS is celebrating one year at Chelas Latin Cuisine Downtown, where it has quickly become one of Tucson’s hottest entertainment destinations. Every show sells out in less than two weeks, solidifying its reputation as a must-see event in the city.

More Than Just Entertainment

Beyond the stage, DIVAS Illusion Show and Chelas Latin Cuisine have actively given back to the community. They have raised funds for various organizations across Tucson and Southern Arizona, reinforcing their commitment to making a difference beyond entertainment.

DIVAS has also been recognized for fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment—both for performers and audience members. With a diverse repertoire that brings legendary Latin performers to life—from the vivacious Amanda Miguel to the Queen of Salsa, Celia Cruz—DIVAS ensures every show is a celebration of culture, talent, and community.

As LGBTQ+ entertainers, the owners of DIVAS Illusion Show reflect on the meaning of PRIDE. “Considering the struggles the LGBTQ+ community has endured, it is humbling to have the opportunity to showcase our pride and creativity. So many have suffered in silence or faced rejection, and our goal is to provide an atmosphere of acceptance, understanding, and unconditional love. Within DIVAS, we have built a family for those who need it most.”
