Boils Treatment

A boil is a painful, pus-filled lump on the skin caused by an infection of a hair follicle, most commonly involving bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus. Boils often appear as red, swollen, tender bumps that may grow larger and eventually drain pus.

Home care for small boils

  • Warm compresses

    • Apply a clean, warm (not hot) cloth to the boil for 10–15 minutes, 3–4 times daily.

    • This can encourage natural drainage and reduce discomfort.
